Transportation

The District is well connected by both Rail route and Road route. The linking routes to the nearby national highways has been established. Both Broad Guage Double line ( Bombay- Delhi line , Central Raiway ) and metre guage (Jaipur - Purna ) are passing though the District connecting the nation-wide network viz. Bombay (Mumbai) Delhi, Indore, Calcutta etc.

Telephone Network is established and functional all over the district. Department of Telecommunication has done efforts to lay down the telephone cables to the remote rural places also.

Water

Two Major Rivers Narmada and Tapti are passing through the district.

Minerals/Forest product

Lime Stone is found in paltry quantity. Other than this, the building materials like crushing stone, Murram & Stones about 60 Thousand M.T. per annum, Sand 24 Thousand M.T. per annum, are found/extracted in sufficient quantities.
The major forest crops are Teak Wood, Tendu Leaves, Edible Gum, Mahua and Bamboo. A sum of 551441 Ha. land is covered by forest.
